Brian Roche

Brian Roche has published a work in land law containing an account, from the tenants' perspective, of how the landlord interest in the 19th century was bought out, beginning with the Land Act, 1870 and ending with the Land Act, 1909 together with a detailed account of the provisions contained in the Land Act 1903 (Wyndham's Act). The account also describes the provisions in legislation enacted in 1907 and 1908 to deal with the evicted tenants question. This is the first in depth treatment of this topic to reach the detail involved allied as it is to a description of the political career of John Roche, Brian Roche's great-grandfather, co-written by his nephew Aengus Karen.
